FASHION, DESIGN AND STYLE

So the other day, I shared an idea on my WhatsApp status on rearranging our personal spaces and how that can ultimately change our perspectives. I even went further to clarify that by rearranging I didn't just mean the usual clean and declutter but a literal movement of objects & even furniture. As I had pointed out (on there still) I admit I cannot affirm the psychology behind it despite being fully convicted that it could be effective.

Now when I highlighted on it I did not anticipate being the very first to attest to it's effectiveness; yet here we are, already a blog innit.

As you may have already figured, yes I did rearrange my personal space. No, it was not in anyway visually satisfying and yet it seemed to feel just right. Chuckling almost, cause I couldn't put a finger on it in the very moment.

Until later that night and it hit me , like a neat whisky the moment I walked through my front door; the fresh perspective that I had insecurely preached about. In the moment it dawned on me why despite the unsatisfactory transformation, the change still somehow managed to tickle a sweet spot.

I recently moved to this particular space and even with the constant mantra "less perfection, more authenticity" I managed to lose myself into the constant need to pursue the very perfection over the authenticity. The sudden rearrangement however, had shaken me back into a mindset of composure and mental repose. In this little while, I'd inherently remembered to just exist and relish in the joy of attaining this particular milestone. Relearning to overlook the bare & undecorated dull walls and focus more on the new found freedom.

In the end, after all the idea to rearrange spaces proved to candidly help shift one's perspective on all things LIFE!

With thoughtfulness, Mwangi

Bonsoir rafikis. Bienvenue dans une autre lecture passionnante.

Here, the sensational smell of coffee and cigarettes draw us in. Into the heart of this dreamy town of love, passion and fashion; Paris.

Almost four seasons in and we most certainly cannot get enough of the highs and lows of this spirited romantic-comedy; Emily In Paris. While I'd love to indulge you in a very well detailed spoiler on this one, I'd rather spend the next  une dizaine minutes teasing your taste buds.

From the very first look it's undeniable that Emily's (and the overall casts') style has only gotten better. Portraying a lot of vibrance and zeal, the play of vibrant colors and clash of prints and patterns sure has come a long way in giving us that  je ne sais quoi.

While Emily's looks come off as playful and stereotypical, other cast's members style like Mindy and Sylvie (arguably) exemplify a fashionably chic haute couture culture in Paris. Camille on the other hand , appears to have an edgy yet very Parisian sense of style.

Emily, however did stun in this sweetie monotone number.

Although the show is subjectively more celebratory of la femme, it's close to impossible to miss a glimpse of our rakish male cast. With Julian standing out in his colorful pieces, we could easily overlook the bespoke numbers that the other gents spot. Safe to note Gabriel's style is more laid back and casual but it is nevertheless admirable.

Whilst I'd love to sit and kiki about this fashionably electric cast, I regrettably have to press and fold the freshly laundered pile that coldly sits by the corner; lest I'm found short & unprepared for the next season. This is a short goodbye...

Cheers!

Hi there kind visitor.Thank you and welcome back to my blog.First of all I wish to earnestly apologize for being MIA.Believe me when I say my reasons are valid.For instance I was caught up in other projects like a music video that my brother and I recorded,and if by chance you haven't come across it I'll leave the song details at the end of this blog post.Also I've been held up by school ,but I am happy to share with y'all the joy of knowing that I am pursuing a course related to what I love,Fashion Design *blushing,lol* But this time that  I have been away has given me the chance to grow in all life aspects and most especially in terms of style.

 Moving on swiftly...Now most of us grew up being told Blue is for 'boys' and pink is for 'girls' but yoh! times have changed and in this era we can go against 'norms',ey? I am sorry if your masculinity is fragile cause bruh! this will definetly  not be your cup of tea. *sips tea & smirks*

#01
 Well what better way to wear pink,without looking effeminate or gay(for the stereotypes) than to actually pair it with 'the masculine' color,blue.
I went for baby pink pants and paired it with a denim flowered jacket cum shirt. White timberland boots(in my kingdom,with my timbs on...haha) dressed up the look. I kept the accesories minimal by throwing on blue reflector sunglasses, a hand made necklace and a ring.
 Here's how it looks;

#02
This is a casual official outfit. Oh,and before I forget,I kinda rebranded and now into bohemian vibes *wink*
So I went for an almost hot pink shirt and paired it with a neutral color,black. I went for a two piece suit and dressed it up by first folding up the shirt sleeves & and trouser hem and secondly by throwing on some accesories which I won't list out lest we take all day,haha.
And here's the outcome;

Here is the song by the way:

Thankyou and let's meet here again next year for bigger and better style tips.
Do have a Happy Festive Holiday.

Well many people tell me they want to steal pieces of clothes from my closet but instead I decided to instead share my closet in a more digital kinda manner (so to speak), and the idea of a blog came in a haze at first - you could say blurry vision- but then with help, and determination and the right kinda typist (I suck, lol) and hustles (laugh all you want, you know we're in the same situation) Verstyle was born, and before you even go all, Huh, Yes, the name does mean what the combo emphasises. Here is my platform, but the meaning lies in you the reader.

Verstyle is not a blog, it's a dimension, and a forum to showcase, what I believe to be the evolution of fashion, combining a versatile personality with a unique sense of style, to create what one could a haven of perfection - fashion-wise!

Oh, my name is Edwin Mwangi, though the profile clearly states me an Emir (for you blondes out there, Emir is Arabic for Prince) and I believe I term as royalty in the wonderful world of fabrics and design - don't mistake my confidence for arrogance - I sat down and became humble long ago....Welcome beautiful people, fashion glamourouseness awaits!
